Welcome to another week. I am extremely grateful to be here. I have really been undergoing this rapid transformation. I’ve taken time to really deepen my spiritual practice and really reconnect with spirit on a different level because I’ve been so busy. I spent so much time doing and running and rushing, and it really separated me from myself, my body, and my practice, ultimately.
I want to invite you to see maybe where you have been rushing, maybe you have been disconnected, or maybe you have been distracting yourself. There have been many times in my life where I have started to disassociate. And I don’t know if you guys know what that is, if you have a history of that, but I’ll get into that as a whole separate episode.
As a trauma response, whenever something traumatic would happen, I would essentially leave my body. Then, this started to happen when trauma wasn’t present, or maybe my brain thought that I was in danger so I would start to disassociate, my consciousness would leave my body. My body would be present for the trauma but my awareness, myself, I wasn’t there.
This recently happened during a meditation period. I went really deep into meditation, into this meditative state, and started to experience this uncomfortable feeling. I started to disassociate, and I didn’t panic, but it was extremely uncomfortable. I was trying to figure out why it happened when I was in this deep meditative state, in a peaceful state.
I thought, I don’t have an agenda for today’s episode. I just want to talk whatever resonates with you is for you. If nothing resonates today, that’s okay. I just know that I’m committed to showing up weekly and I want to make sure I do that. One, for the practice. Two, for the people who actually need this little clip and these little gentle reminders. That’s what I’m here for because this is now a sacred practice for me too. So you know what? As I said that I got a download. I want you to know that even if you have experienced something extremely traumatic in your life, even if you have experienced the most trauma you could think of, even if you feel like you might be broken or you might be damaged, tainted, whatever it is, I want to remind you that you are whole.
I want to remind you that what you went through. What you have gone through does not define who you are, right? Yes, it helps to shape you. Yes, it helps to mold you, but what you have been through is not who you are. You are not a victim. It does not define you. And you do not have to hold on to that identity, right? You do not have to hold on to shame. You do not have to walk around like you are what you have been through because you are not, okay?
I just want to give you gentle reminder, gentle permission in case nobody ever told you that it is absolutely okay to transcend what you have been through. That is not your forever identity. Step into who you truly are and leave that behind.
Please remember: Trauma is not your identity.
What you have gone through is not your identity. Somebody choosing not to love you is not your identity. Somebody choosing to hurt you intentionally is not your identity. Somebody calling you something, somebody shaming you, somebody not appreciating you is not your identity.
I want you to just remember who you are, remember what you are worth. Remember why you are here and don’t forget it whenever you find yourself going down a rabbit hole, whenever you find yourself second guessing, whenever you find yourself depressed, sad, and anxious, I want you to remember, trauma is not your identity, okay? I love you.
